Office of the Dog Mayor

Dear Dog Mayor Candidates and Campaign Managers,

Welcome to Holly, Phoebe, Willie Bear, and Ari Barkovich, our newest candidates to join the race this past week! Congrats to two of our “big dogs,” Yogi and Lincoln, who have pulled ahead in the vote tally and are currently in the lead. We did a huge email push this week to our Historical Society supporters, and the Village gave us some nice publicity in their electronic newsletter. Add to that all of your personal efforts to spread the word, and it all has resulted in lots of voter participation. I hope you are all seeing the comments from donors showing up now on your campaign pages–some of them are just delightful!

Update #3, Week of July 5th

Based on the responses from last week, we are planning to hold our Candidates “Meet and Greet” event on the afternoon of Sunday, August 1st. This will be held in the historic downtown, and details are still being arranged. I will let you know next week the exact time and location. This will be a short (one hour or less) kids & family opportunity for your dog to get out and socialize with the public. Campaign posters are encouraged! This is, of course, totally optional on your part to participate, but it should be fun and photo friendly. More on this event in the weeks to come.

Thanks again for being a part of this new community activity. We couldn’t do it without your enthusiasm! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Angie Underwood,
Long Grove Historical Society
Dog Mayor Chief of Staff
