Office of the Dog Mayor

Dear Dog Mayor Candidates and Campaign Managers,

Week Two of our election is proving to gain momentum with 16 furry friends now entered in the race, as of this evening. Votes are steadily coming in, with Oliver, Bella, and Lucky currently leading the pack. Thanks to everyone for your creativity and enthusiasm in adding extra pictures, campaign slogans, and social media posts to boost participation from friends and family. We even heard of at least one candidate who worked the crowds at Strawberry Fest last weekend to gain supporters!

Update #2, Week of June 28th

Our tech expert, Aaron, has added a feature to the website that will send each candidate an email as new votes are received. In real time you will be able to see who voted for your candidate, the amount of new votes, and any message they write. Look for this new feature to be activated within the next couple of days.

Also, we are planning to hold a “Candidate’s Night” meet and greet event in July. This will be short, one hour or less, held in the historic downtown, and completely optional. If your candidate is interested in meeting his/her constituents, submitting to some friendly pats on the head and tail wagging for potential votes, we would love to have you participate. Details are still being finalized but we promise it will be fun and family friendly. If you are interested please reply to this email with your availability on the following dates:

Thursday July 22, 7-8 pm

Friday July 23, 7-8 pm

Sunday July 25, 3-4 pm

Thursday July 29, 7-8 pm

Friday July 30, 7-8 pm

Sunday August 1, 3-4 pm

We will plan the event on the day that most candidates are available.

Good luck this week to all of our cute canines and have fun out there on the campaign trails!

Sincerely,

Angie Underwood,
Long Grove Historical Society
